Dr. Christine Wickenheiser is a seasoned veterinarian with over two decades of experience practicing in the Duluth/Cloquet area of Minnesota. After completing her undergraduate studies in Biology at Moorhead State University, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota St. Paul Veterinary College. Since beginning her career in 2002, Dr. Wickenheiser has been dedicated to providing exceptional care to her animal patients. She initially served as an associate veterinarian at Airport Animal Hospital until 2017, after which she continued her practice at Cloquet Animal Hospital. She has a special interest in nontraditional pets, including llamas, goats, rabbits, and iguanas, making her a sought-after specialist in these areas. One of Dr. Wickenheiser’s unique abilities is her acute sense of smell, which allows her to detect certain diseases, such as ketones, uremia, and various bacterial and yeast infections, before diagnostic tests confirm them. Dr. Wickenheiser is particularly passionate about senior pet care, believing that aging should not equate to a decline in quality of life. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Wickenheiser enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including traveling, hiking, camping, and water sports such as SCUBA diving.
